Project/ Senior Geologist

Southern Cross Goldfields Ltd requires a Project/Senior Geologist, with at least three years experience in gold and/or base metals exploration, commencing September or October 2011. The Company is headquartered in West Perth and has extensive, high quality exploration acreage in the Yilgarn Region of Western Australia. The position includes responsibility for planning, supervision and assessment of exploration programs for a number of key project areas. Reporting to the Exploration Manager, the successful applicant will: >Generate targets and design work programs within budget >Schedule and implement those work programs >Supervise junior and contract geologists, field staff and drilling contactors While the position is Perth based, regular fieldwork to the Southern Cross region (only a four hour drive from Perth) will be necessary. Applicants require a tertiary qualification in Geology and must be able to demonstrate effective communication and technical skills. Previous experience in Archaean gold and/or base metals exploration is preferred. (details)
